Library is always an institution’s pride and a treasure house of wisdom. It aids both the students and the faculty to enrich their knowledge. A college library is a part and parcel of college life. Prescribed textbooks are just a guideline for their technological upgradation whereas our college library provides a lot books of different interest. In a college library student and teachers can read even the rare books that cannot afford to buy themselves. A habit of reading books creates a great attraction of reading.

The mission of the Central Library is to provide information services and access to bibliographic and full text digital and printed resources to support the scholarly and informational needs. Our library has an excellent ambiance to read in tranquil. It is spacious and classified into various sections which are labelled accordingly. It plays a vital role in acquisition, organization and dissemination of knowledge. It is well equipped with 70000+ books transmitting knowledge in 5 different branches of engineering besides competitive, fantasy, motivational and other general books.

Library in RCET is embracing the power of RFID technology, the way we interact with books and information have changed significantly. With RFID tags discreetly embedded in each book, libraries now offer a seamless and efficient borrowing experience. Gone are the days of laborious manual check-ins and check-outs. RFID has opened a world of possibilities, allowing library patrons to simply wave their books at self-service kiosks, instantly updating their accounts. This not only saves time but also ensures accurate inventory management, making lost books a thing of the past. Step into the future of library services with RFID and enjoy a new level of convenience in operations.

The Library RFID Self-Service Kiosk is an advanced system provided by Rapidradio Solutions, designed to streamline and simplify the process of borrowing, returning, and renewing books for library patrons. By utilizing this user-friendly kiosk, patrons can take charge of their library transactions, reducing the burden on library staff and increasing overall efficiency.

With the Library RFID Self-Service Kiosk, patrons have the convenience of accessing the system through various means such as RFID cards, biometric authentication, barcodes, or even facial recognition. By simply placing their books on the kiosk, the system automatically carries out the issuing, returning, and renewal processes, all linked to the patron's personal account.

Furthermore, this self-service kiosk also allows patrons to access their library accounts, providing them with the ability to view relevant information and manage their borrowing history effortlessly.

Working of Library RFID self service kiosk :

  • Approach the self-service kiosk and select your preferred language for ease of use.
  • Authenticate yourself using your RFID ID card, biometric fingerprint, barcode, or face recognition for secure access.
  • For Borrowing, Place the books you wish to borrow on the designated area of the kiosk.
  • Confirm the transaction and receive a receipt or digital confirmation ( e- mail/ SMS)of your borrowed items.
  • For returning, Place the books you want to return on the kiosk’s designated return area.
  • The kiosk will automatically process the return, updating your account accordingly.
  • You can Access your library account on the kiosk’s user-friendly interface to view your borrowing history, due dates, and any fines or fees associated with your account.

Laptops are Lent for one week for the PG Students. The books taken for reading should be returned within the given time .

General Rules

  • Readers and visitors are requested not to bring their belongings in the library.
  • Users are requested to leave the books/documents on the reading table after consultation.
  • The issued document/book is considered to be his/her personal belonging. It should be brought to the library only for the purpose of returning.
  • The Book limit for Faculty is 5 and Student is 3, periodical renewal is done after every 15 days
  • Users are responsible for complying with copyright act while photocopying library documents.
  • Improper use of library facilities by a member will lead to the suspension/ termination of his/her membership.
  • Silence and strict discipline should be maintained in the library by all users and the library staff. Every one shall ensure that no reader should feel disturbed in their study by any act of his/her.
  • Use of eatables in the Library is strictly prohibited. Utmost care shall be taken by al to keep library clean.
  • The library rules and regulations shall be modified from time to time and shall be binding on all concerned
