Department of Chemistry in association with Department of Agriculture Engineering organised  the five days Hands on Training programme on " Mushroom Cultivation and it's Value Added Product " for the first year students of Dept of Agricultural Engineering with on imparting the conceptual knowledge on Mushroom Cultivation. 

Mrs.Pushpalatha and Mr.Saran, Mushroom Cultivation Trainers, IOB-RSETI, Kanyakumari guided the students in cultivation process. The training was given with the special focus on empowering the youth towards farming. 

RSETIs are Rural Self Employment Training Institutes,  an initiative of Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD) to have dedicated infrastructure in each district of the country to impart training and skill upgradation of rural youth geared towards entrepreneurship development. RSETIs are managed by banks with active co-operation from the Government of India and State Governments.

The trainers delivered about various techniques or methods to cultivate the mushroom to the gatherings. All the five days was carried out with a presentation session sharing knowledge towards the farming, Guidance to get Financial Assistance and hands-on training session. Every afternoon, students was taken to the field to observe the Mushroom Cultivation process and based on that hands on training was provided which gained the confidence of the students to explore new things. At the end of the training, students were given certificates which is a kind of motivation that triggers their mind to become an Entrepreneur.
