About Us

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering(ECE) was established in 2012 with an initial intake of 60 students to the BE (ECE) programme and increased to an intake of 120 students from 2013. The department offers ME (Communication Systems) programme from 2013 with an intake of 24 students. The department accommodate Outcome Based Education which help the students to learn, develop and serve the society. The department has experienced and dedicated faculty specialized in various fields of Electronics and Communication Engineering such as VLSI Design, Signal and Image processing, Satellite and remote sensing, wireless sensor networks, Communication systems, Embedded systems and Internet of Things(IoT). The faculty members have published more than 80 papers in National/ International Journals/ Conferences, written books and filed few Indian patents during the last 5 years and received many awards. The students are provided with lot of opportunities to work on project and skill development apart from regular curriculum. The department provide value added knowledge to nearly 120 Under graduates and 24 post graduates every Year. Students regularly undergo Internship and In-plant training in industries, state and the central government organizations and actively involved in participating competitions organized by various other Institutes. The department offers continuous learning through conferences, Faculty Development Programs (FDP), Symposium,Mini-project expo and workshop. The department regularly organizes Guest lectures and Special lectures in various courses to fill the curriculum gaps. The details of the department activities are published in biannual newsletter “Electrovision” which serves as a window of the department. The department has well established laboratory facilities to conduct research work on different specialized areas of Electronics and Communication Engineering. The students of the department have received external research funding from Tamil Nadu State Council for Science and Technology in recent years. The students of the departments have joined reputed industries through placements and some of them have turned to be an entrepreneur. The department has good network of alumni.
