ASPIRE 2018

NATIONAL CONFERENCE ON EMERGING TRENDS IN ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY FOR AEROSPACE APPLICATION

ohini College of Engineering & Technology, Kanya kumari organized National Conference on Emerging Trends in Engineering and Technology for Aerospace Application in association with ISRO – Propulsion Complex (IPRC), Mahendragiri from 12th October 2018 to 15th October 2018. This event has been organized to appreciate the achievements of ISRO in space science and to make awareness among the school and college students regarding the achievements of India in space technologies. The main spotlight of this National conference and Space Expo organized by RCET in association with IPRC is to exhibit the latest technological advancement, related systems and technical services in the area of space science and engineering. Students have been made to know the opportunities for pursuing studies and career at ISRO.

On day 1 the stage was set for the ASPIRE 2018 Space Exhibition. It was opened for all students from different schools from 12th October 2018 to 15th October 2018. During this Expo "Some models were demonstrated by engineering students to the school children. Scientists from ISRO have inspired students towards study of space. Respected Chairman Shri. K. Neela Marthandan, The founder of Rohini College of Engg & Tech. garlanded the Deputy Director IPRC, ISRO. Vice Chairman, Dr. N. Mohan Neela Judith, Managing Director, Dr. N. Neela Vishnu welcomed the Guest of Honor with a sandalwood garland and presided over the function. A traditional touch was given to the event by lamp lightning session by all the dignitaries on stage. Dr.R.Rajesh, Principal welcomed the gathering and introduced the guests of the day and delivered presidential address. In his presidential address, he briefed on the advancements made by ISRO on satellite development. Also he noted that Indian scientists are talented to develop low cost launch vehicles compared to NASA.

The stage was full of dignitaries who intended to provide a quality knowledge and create an awareness among the students. Shri. S.Pandian, Director, IPRC, Mahendragiri inaugurated the exhibition and delivered the keynote address. In his keynote address, he briefed on the future plans of ISRO in space technology. ISRO is in the process of developing satellites that helps the fishermen to navigate and detect cyclones locations. Finally, while concluding he stated “All our dreams can come true; if we have the courage to pursue them”. Followed by him, Dignitary Dr. Narayanan, LPSC Director made an Inspiring speech which created an impact in every student in the Grand Arena". The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams."- An encouraging talk by eminent personality Shri. Shyam Dhayl Dev, Director IISU, ISRO, Trivandrum. The important moment in this ceremonial is releasing the conference proceedings. The valedictory ceremony of ASPIRE 2018, with expertise on stage was concluded by awarding the students on category wise for their exemplary performance. More than 4,000 Students from various schools and colleges in and around Kanyakumari and Tirunelveli districts visited the exhibition and got benefitted. Dr. Mathu Suresh, Head of Science and humanities delivered vote of thanks and the event got concluded by National Anthem.
